About the Artist

A Practice Rooted in Stillness and Meaning

From the raw strength of wildlife to the subtle rhythms of landscapes, Doreen’s photographs reveal nature as both powerful and vulnerable. Her work reflects a belief that art can preserve more than beauty—it can preserve awareness, respect, and responsibility.

This philosophy extends beyond the image itself. Selected works support conservation and environmental storytelling through Global Voices for Nature, reinforcing the idea that every photograph carries both emotional and ethical weight.

Doreen McGunagle, Ph.D.

Conservation Fine Art Photographer whose artistic practice is rooted in environmental storytelling and stewardship.

Doreen McGunagle’s artistic practice is a long-term visual study of Earth’s fragile ecosystems and the relationships that sustain them. Working from the air and on the ground, she explores environments ranging from coral reefs and coastal waters to wetlands, mountains, wildlife habitats, and polar landscapes.

Her work moves beyond documentation to reveal patterns, connections, resilience, and vulnerability within the natural world. Through both intimate encounters and expansive perspectives, McGunagle invites viewers to see each ecosystem not as an isolated landscape, but as part of an interconnected living system.

Combining her academic background with decades of artistic development, McGunagle approaches conservation not simply as a theme, but as a responsibility—using fine art to transform observation into understanding and understanding into stewardship.

As founder of the Global Voices for Nature Foundation, she extends this mission through conservation education, exhibitions, publications, films, and initiatives designed to deepen awareness of the natural systems we share.

Where Nature Becomes Legacy

Doreen McGunagle is a fine art nature photographer whose work explores the quiet power and enduring beauty of the natural world. Through intimate wildlife portraits and contemplative landscapes, her photography invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and form a deeper connection with the environments that shape our shared story.

Rather than documenting specific locations, Doreen’s work focuses on presence—moments where light, form, and stillness converge. Each image is created with intention, designed not only to be seen, but to be lived with over time.

The Work

Doreen McGunagle Fine Art offers limited-edition fine art photography produced to museum-quality standards. Each piece is released in a restricted edition and crafted using archival materials selected for longevity, depth, and visual integrity.

Created from a growing body of work exploring fragile ecosystems around the world, each photograph is conceived as both an artistic expression and an invitation to look more closely. From aerial abstractions and expansive landscapes to intimate wildlife encounters, the work reveals the patterns, relationships, and quiet details that connect the natural world.

Available formats include:

  • Acrylic Pro, Metal Pro, and Canvas Pro

  • Custom floating frames, handmade in Italy

Every detail—from image selection and scale to materials and presentation—is considered as part of the finished artwork. Each piece is created to endure—visually, materially, and emotionally—while bringing a deeper connection to the natural world into the spaces where we live and work.

“Creating conservation-driven fine art that transforms the beauty and fragility of our natural world into enduring visual legacies.”
