Doreen McGunagle’s Mystic Monochrome has been selected for inclusion in the “Black and White” juried group exhibition at A Smith Gallery. Curated by photographer and juror Michael Kirchoff, this exhibition explores the timeless dialogue between light and shadow—revealing how the absence of color can heighten emotion, form, and texture.

Mystic Monochrome captures the quiet drama of a fog-kissed coastline where stillness and movement meet. A solitary sailboat drifts through the mist, embodying a sense of introspection and serenity. Through tonal contrast and delicate gradations of light, McGunagle transforms a fleeting natural moment into a meditation on solitude, reflection, and the enduring power of nature’s simplicity.

The exhibition runs October 10 through November 20, 2025, with an accompanying GalleryTalk video presentation by gallery directors Kevin and Amanda at 3:00 PM CST on October 25, featuring commentary on all selected works.
