I arrived as the air was cool and clear after weather moved through. Low cloud bands slid along the ridges; the first sun lifted the mountain’s maroon tones while the forest stayed a shade deeper. The lake held a near-perfect echo—texture and tone doubled with a quiet breath between them. What I felt most was steadiness: stone, trees, and water agreeing on a tempo you can trust.
